Santa Clarita Direct Cremation provides direct cremation services across the Santa Clarita Valley and northern LA County. Our $1,195 all-inclusive price covers transport, refrigeration, death certificate filing, cremation permit, private cremation at a California-licensed crematory, a durable urn with velvet bag, and personal return of ashes within 30 miles of our service area.
Our $1,195 price is all-inclusive for standard cases within our normal service area. Additional costs that are not included: certified death-certificate copies beyond the one included filing ($26 each, county fee), USPS Priority Mail Express shipping of ashes beyond 30 miles ($150), coroner-case release coordination for cases that extend beyond standard timing (billed at cost), and optional services clearly priced at the time you request them. We ask for payment at the time of signed authorization.
Under California Health & Safety Code §7100, authorization to cremate must come from the legally recognized next of kin. We will not proceed with cremation without that signed authorization. If disputes exist among family members, we will pause until they are resolved.
From the moment we take your loved one into our care, chain of custody is tracked and documented. Cremation is private — your loved one is never commingled. A metal ID disc remains with the remains throughout the cremation process.
Typical timeline from first call to return of ashes is 7–10 business days. Coroner cases, incomplete physician signatures, or international documentation requirements may extend this. We update you by text or phone at every step.
If arrangements are canceled before cremation has begun, we refund the full payment less any out-of-pocket costs already incurred (transport, certified copies, coroner fees). Once cremation has begun, services cannot be reversed.
Our liability is limited to the service fee paid. We are not liable for delays caused by third parties (physicians, coroner, county records office, hospitals, USPS, airlines) or acts of God.
These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be resolved in Los Angeles County, California.
